Don’t worry, your Library isn’t gone, it’s just hidden. It’s the exact same format as the Library folders in the previous versions of OS X, only with a hidden flag attached similar to an htaccess file on the server. Anyways there are a couple ways to get rid of that flag and show the library, or just its contents in Lion.
Show Library
- You can remove the hide flag to reveal the folder permanently using the command line easily. Simply copy this command, paste it into the command line window and hit return (enter).
chflags nohidden ~/Library
If you get a premissions error then try using this command instead
sudo chflags nohidden ~/Library
- If you’d like to just access it for a single session then press Shift-Command-G on the Finder and then type ‘~/Library’ without the quotes in the “Go to the Folder” text input.
You can also select the “Go” dropdown in the Finder and hold down the option key to reveal the user Library’s directory
